Sandstone strips are widely promoted for monuments and commercial buildings specially in India. Extensively used in construction industry worldwide, strips of sandstone are long narrow pieces having uniform width. The sandstone deposits are found mainly in Rajasthan - the only place in India with extensive deposits. Shivpuri and Lalitpur in Madhya Pradesh also have some deposits of sandstone. Lemon Tint Mint and Lalitpur Yellow are being exported in different sizes and thicknesses.

Usage
Looking to the beautiful look it provided, some of the architects started using sandstone strips for cladding in residential houses, commercial buildings and hotels. Sandstone honed strips became popular for exterior applications. These are also used basically for ornamentation of the entrance or the outside of the house or building, are also perfect for large outdoor gardens and parks.
